Where to Eat and Drink at Palisades Village

From Casual Dining to Sit-down Cuisine, Here are the Treats to Try at Palisades Village.

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains, the Pacific Palisades is a ritzy beach enclave with multimillion-dollar homes, panoramic ocean views, and winding trails. As of this fall, it’s also home to Palisades Village, a walkable village with over 40 dining, shopping, and entertainment options. From family-style cuisine to fine-dining options (and everything in between), Palisades Village has something for foodies of all ages. Here are some of the must-try options:

Blue Ribbon Sushi: Helmed by chefs Eric and Bruce Bromberg, this upscale, inviting eatery offers fresh sushi, sashimi, family-style Japanese cuisine, and a large sake menu.

Hank’s: For an all-American meal, head to Hank’s. Envisioned as a down-to-earth neighborhood joint, this restaurant serves classic comfort food all day long. Fried chicken, burgers, chicken wings, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, cocktails, beer, and wine can all be found on the extensive menu.

edo little bites: This cozy little restaurant is the brainchild of chef Edoardo Baldi (of e. Baldi Ristorante and edo italian baretto in Beverly Hills and Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica). Healthy, casual fare is the name of the game, from salads and sandwiches to pastries and toasts.

Sumo Dog: Created by chef and founder Jeffrey Lunak, this hip joint proves that there’s far more than meets the eye when it comes to the humble hot dog. Try Asian-inspired options (think a kimchee dog or panko-breaded dog) or opt for the appropriately named sumo burger, a behemoth of an offering served with pickled peppers, wasabi furikake, and minced onions.

SunLife Organics: This juice and smoothie bar chain has made a name for itself in Southern California because of its healthy protein shakes, acai bowls, wellness shots, and protein shakes. Items can be preordered for optimal convenience.

Sweet Laurel: When Laurel Gallucci was put on a strict elimination diet because of an aggressive autoimmune disorder, she began refining grain- and sugar-free treats that she could share with family and friends. Today, her labor of love has morphed into a cake shop with paleo and vegan favorites like vanilla coconut jam cake and raspberry truffle layer cake. Aspiring pastry chefs can also take classes at the location.

McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams: Since 1949, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams has been living up to its name by crafting original ice creams from scratch using high-quality organic ingredients from local farms and partners. Scoops of ultra-creamy, original varieties (like earl grey tea and shortbread cookies or maple, squash and ginger cookies) are sure to be a hit.

General Porpoise: James Beard Award-winning chef Renee Erickson’s custom coffee and doughnut shop pairs freshly roasted coffee with homemade doughnuts filled with seasonal jellies, jams, curds, custards, and creams.
